Why should people consider joining Choi Kwang Do?
For OPTIMUM HEALTH!!! Many martial artists who train in other 'traditional' arts sustain many injuries to the knees, spine, elbows and other joints through the stressful and unnatural lockout movements that are repeated over and over in training. Choi Kwang Do movements are natural and don't use the type of movements that damage joints and muscles. Anyone can learn Choi Kwang Do; men, women, children and senior citizens can all benefit from training in our art! Our students range in age from 4 to 91.
When other martial arts won't let you join because of bad knees or hips, we in Choi Kwang Do focus on what you CAN DO, not what you CAN'T!
Most traditional martial arts are difficult to learn and unrealistic in actual self-defence, even though the high jumps and flashy moves may look impressive in the movies, they simply don't work on the street. Choi Kwang Do movements are easy to learn and are very effective in practice. From the very first lesson, you will see that the movements are simple, easy, and simply "make sense" from a medical point of view.
